Santa Ana’s Observatory
April 5th, 2016
The Galaxy Concert Theatre stood on 3503 S. Harbor Blvd for years, as home of the stage of small bands and not the most well known artist. About eight years ago the venue was almost empty and struggling in their success. They had to shut their doors eventually after years of struggling.
The Galaxy Theater reopened years later with a new owner, a new vision and a new reputation. It became a place for popular artists and an intimate setting for the audience and artist. The venue allows you to be very close to the stage and to the artist. The venue was renamed to The Observatory and quickly rose to be a more popular venue. The artists present were better known and the venue itself became more popular and frequently visited.
I attended a Fetty Wap concert here on April 5th, 2016 and was able to stand only feet away from him. This venue was a little smaller than the venues I am use to attending. I noticed that the crowd was also very different to rest. There were two 10 year olds with their parents as soon as I walked in. Most venues have an 18 years and older entry age, yet I was able enjoy a concert with these adolescents. It was a great vibe and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. Often when I attend concerts there are angry people trying to get to the front of the stage. Overall I had a great time at The Observatory and would easily attend a concert here again. On top of a great experience the ticket prices are very affordable. I purchased tickets for another concert for only eight dollars. The prices range from fifteen to sixty dollars regularly.
